Docked or Ready to Row

I am sure those of you reading this can identify with me the ebbs and flows of life.

More and more I am realizing how important discernment is. Without it, you can make wrong choices and those wrong choices can lead to confusion and possible disaster.

Let’s consider a sailboat for instance. Say your sailboat is docked. Meaning tied to a pier with a dock line or rope. Sailboats are tied to the pier so they will not float away before time or float unsupervised. Being docked for a period of time is a good thing. It keeps the boat steady in one place when it is not in use and stable during preparation. Can you imagine a person trying to prepare for the next part of his journey and by the time he gets back to his boat it is floating away with no direction and none of the things it needs for the next journey? This can be disastrous. That’s like us when we don’t stay connected through the dock line to the resources god has placed in our lives. The dock in preparation seasons has the ability to keep things secure and leveled. The dock in preparation seasons is safe. How many of you can see yourselves in some areas as docked? So can I! There is an area in my life right now where I am docked…parked for a minute until clarity comes and until preparation is complete. This can be difficult for us hybrids out there that go! Go! Go!

Now let’s consider once we are prepared and have everything set and it is time to row. This is where the dock can become a hindrance. You cannot move on and stay docked at the same time. It is either one or the other. When it is time to row, you have to unravel and disconnect in order to be free to move forward. Sometimes we get so secure at the dock and that is not what god intended for us. Well Deshantel what is the dock? Glad you asked! The dock is anything that is secure and safe during preparation season. Anything or anyone for that matter related to your comfort zone can be your dock.

If it is your season to row, as is it written in his word, to launch out into the deep……then start rowing by faith. It takes faith to let go of the familiar and what once was to move on to what is next for you. You do not have to fear. The lord will go before you and he is with you. When storms come while you are rowing rest assure when you look to Jesus and call on his name, he has the power to command peace and to settle the winds and the waves. He also has the power to keep you if the winds and waves don’t cease. If it is your season to be docked……do like the bible says……be still and know that I am God.  Be open to your season of preparations and ready for downloads from heaven today on your next move.

Set pride aside and with all humility….discern and know what season you are in.  Do not despise seasons of preparation and do not fear to move forward when it is time to move. Are you docked or ready to row?

Prayer: Lord I lift your great name today. You are so worthy. In humility I say thank you for being such an amazing god. I know i am nothing without you….just shipwrecked without you. Be an anchor for my soul. Father I pray for strong discernment to know when I am in a docked season or a ready to row season. I want to be in your perfect will walking by faith not by what I see. I come against all distractions, fear and anxiety of the unknown. You know all things and you do things well. My times are in your hands. I trust and submit to your process. In Jesus name amen.
