Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Oprah Winfrey have come together to help the residents of Maui after being displaced by wildfires

They have donated $10 million each to create The People’s Fund of Maui. It’s been reported that the adults who can’t return to their homes will receive $1,200 a month. The fund is also asking for donations to help the displaced residents.

The former WWE wrestler posted a video on social media making the announcement of helping the residents. “You want to take care of the greatest need of the people, and that’s giving them money.”

During the wildfires, at least 115 people were killed and an unknown amount of people are still missing. The wildfire took place on August 8th in the town of Lahaina and it is considered the deadliest one in the United States in more than a century.
