Dwyane Wade can’t get enough of his girls!
His wife, Gabrielle Union, shared a sexy photo on Instagram with her children (one is by marriage), Zaya and Kaavia Wade. In the location, Gabrielle titled it, “family over everything headquarters.” Zaya and Gab are dressed like they’re going out on the town, and baby Kaavia looks like she gave them “permission” to go.
Fans flooded the comment section with love and praise. Dwyane chimed in and said, “y’all so dope.” Take a look at the beautiful photo:
Buzzfeed reports Gabrielle doesn’t like the term “stepmother.” During an interview with the We Can Do Hard Things With Glennon Doyle podcast, Gabrielle explained why she doesn’t like the word. She said,
“The stepparent label was put on me by the kids’ school because you have to describe yourself: Who are you if you’re not their mother?” she explained. “It’s very annoying. It’s not a word that I use.”
Dwyane and Gabrielle met in 2007, but they briefly called it quits in early 2013. As reported on Glamour, in an interview with the publication a year after the breakup, Gabrielle said,
“[When Dwyane and I broke up briefly in 2013], it was because of distance and scheduling. I finished filming the show [Being Mary Jane], then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting Think Like a Man Too. I couldn’t take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed.”
She later realized she wanted a family, and they reconciled/got engaged in 2013. They tied the knot in 2014. In 2018, the couple welcomed their beautiful baby girl Kaavia via surrogate. Dwyane is also a father to Zaire, 19, and Zaya, 14, from his marriage to Siovaughn. He’s also his 19-year-old nephew Dahveon’s guardian.
