When it comes to choosing sides between supporting R. Kelly or not, Erykah Badu is choosing “love.”
When Lifetime producers were creating the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ series, they reached out to the people he worked with like Jay Z, Dave Chappelle, Questlove, Mary J. Blige, Lil’ Kim, and Erykah Badu, but they declined. The “Tyrone” singer first caught heat when the series first aired and she took to IG and said, “a wise woman once said….nothing.” Many speculated that it had something to do with R. Kelly. About two weeks after it aired, Erykah has more to say. In another IG post she wrote, “Having Eyes that can see all points of view is a blessing … and a curse in the court of public opinion. “- a mother
I C on both sides like Chanel.”
A fan commented and said that they supported Erykah up until now because she “supports” a “pedophile.” The “Cleva” singer responded and said, “correction, love has very little to do with supporting others’ bad choices. Love is wisdom.”
