Here’s What To Expect On Today’s Election Day!

Today is the day.

After months of campaigning, debates, and conversation Election Day is here. No matter who you are supporting, it is undoubtedly the election that will change the direction of the United States of America for generations to come. The 2020 election is unlike any other election we have seen before due to the COVID-19 outbreak allowing for a record number of mail-in voting ballots and absentee ballots to be cast across the states.

So what can you expect during an unexpected day such as today? Take a look below.

ALL The Votes MUST Be Counted!

It may take a long time for projections and results to be available on Election Day due to many different rules on when mail-in votes can be counted. This may result in various states showing an early lead for one candidate before all mail-in votes have been counted or vice-versa. THIS IS NORMAL! There is no doubt it will be a close race when it comes to the electoral college, but prepare for a scenario that we will NOT go to sleep knowing who is the President of the United States. There have been reports on what the President might do today, such as declare himself a winner early as votes are still being counted. It will mean NOTHING until the votes are actually counted.

Don’t Forget The Senate!

Many seats in the Senate are at stake too, which will be key for how successful the next president will be in this election. States such as Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and more, have tight races that can flip the Senate with a Democratic majority. If the Senate ends up tied then tie breaker in decisions will fall to the Vice President.

Key Ballot Questions!

There are some key ballot questions in states across the nation that will affect big topics such as abortion, marijuana legalization, Uber and Lyft drivers and more!

New Jersey, South Dakota, Montana, and Arizona are looking to allow adults 21 and up to legally buy and consume marijuana. Puerto Rico is voting on Statehood, California is voting on whether 17-year-olds will be eligible to vote, and whether Rhode Island will strike “and Providence Plantations” from the official state name, and many more!

Don’t Believe The Hype!

The Republican party has already begun filing lawsuits to throw out votes in Texas, and in other states across the country. There may be more lawsuits filed tonight based on how close the race is. Don’t fall into the hype. Most courts striking down their arguments and allowing all votes to be counted.

Check On Your Friend!

Anxiety as at an all-time high this election. Call your friend. Check on them. It will be a long and emotional night no matter who wins.
