Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the late Michael Jackson will play the role of his uncle in the upcoming biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua.

Jaafar, who is the son of Jermaine Jackson, has been singing and dancing since the age of 12. Fuqua confirmed the new role on social media. In a post with the young entertainer dressed as his uncle, he wrote, “Proud to announce @jaafajackson as Michael- the motion picture event that explores the journey of the man who became the King of Pop. Coming soon”

The young actor will learn a lot more about the King of Pop since the movie will cover everything about the singer’s life including the controversies that he was famously a part of.

As reported by Deadline, Michael Jackson’s estate has given the rights to his musical catalog for the film, however, it is raising some questions on “how protective they will be,” when it comes to telling the truth about Jackson without facing backlash from his fans.

This news comes after it has been reported that a laptop belonging to music engineer Brad Sundberg holding unreleased songs by Jackson was stolen during an MJ fan event in Brussels which would later be leaked online.

The songs are slated to be from the late 1980s and the early 1990s that he would play for fans who attended those specific events.

Michael Jackson’s estate has not released a statement about the situation yet.
