Jam Master Jay’s Murder Trial To Begin In September

It’s been 20 years since the murder of Run-DMC member Jam Master Jay was fatally shot inside of a Queens recording studio, and now his trial will happen in September.

Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan Jr., the two men allegedly responsible for Jay’s death, were charged with a 10 count indictment.

The jury selection for the trial will take place on September 22nd and the opening statements and testimony will start on September 26th, as Vibe reports.

Acting United States Attorney DuCharme talked about the two men’s acts. “The defendants allegedly carried out the cold-blooded murder of Jason Mizell, a brazen act that has finally caught up with them thanks to the dedicated detectives, agents, and prosecutors who never gave up on this case.”

He added, “The charges announced today begin to provide a measure of justice to the family and friends of the victim, and make clear that the rule of law will be upheld, whether that takes days, months, or decades.”

If convicted, Washington and Jordan Jr. can be sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life.
