Actor Jason Mitchell, rising star of Straight Outta Compton is facing multiple allegations of misconduct causing many of his current and upcoming projects to let him go. The specifics are unclear, but it appears that the accusations were so severe that they have led to his dismissal from Showtime’s The Chi and the upcoming Netflix film, Desperados, as well as termination by his agent and manager.

According to a source with knowledge on The Chi, Mitchell’s former co-star Tiffany Boone, who played his girlfriend on the show, is among one of the many actresses on the series who had issues with Mitchell. There were several complaints of sexual misconduct towards the up and coming actor made by a number of actresses. Boone states that she felt so uncomfortable to the point that she brought her fiance, Dear White People actor Marque Richardson, to the set when she shot scenes with Mitchell. Reportedly, he was also involved in an off-set incident during production on “Desperados,” that led to his dismissal from the anticipated project.

UTA, which dropped Mitchell several weeks ago after multiple allegations of misconduct declined to comment.

Additionally, Netflix referred all inquiries about the allegations to production company Good Universe who also issued no further comments. Fox 21 and Showtime representatives have confirmed that Mitchell will not continue on The Chi beyond its current second season.
