A biopic about the late actor and comedian Bernie Mac is currently in the works at John Legend’s production company, Get Lifted. Legend’s partner Mike Jackson shared the big news during the 2021 Tribeca Festival this week.
Jackson says:
“We just partnered with Bernie Mac’s estate to cover Bernie Mac’s story,” Jackson said.
He added that the new deal, which he was “very excited about,” still has the ink drying on the contract as it had just happened that day.
John Legend had no idea about the project. He says:
“Look at you breaking news over here.”
The biopic will be a scripted feature-length movie about Mac’s life and career. As of right now, there are no additional details about the movie.
