Empire actor, Jussie Smollett has pleaded not guilty to sixteen felony counts of disorderly conduct, following allegations that he may have faked a possible hate.

In January, Smollett told authorities that “he had been jumped while walking through downtown Chicago just past midnight. His two assailants verbally showered him with racial and anti-gay slurs — before physically assaulting him, pouring a chemical on him and leaving him with a rope wrapped around his neck.”

The news immediately grabbed national attention.

Right now, he is currently being accused of filing a false police report.

Smollett has been suspended from his hit show ‘Empire’ and the last two episodes from the new season have been written out. If Smollett is convicted he could face up to three years in prison.
