Jussie Smollett To Possibly Land A Book Deal After Hate Crime Incident

Jussie Smollett could be receiving a huge lump sum of money real soon.

It has been reported that the actor may land a book deal worth $10 million over his hate crime incident. In March, Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail and ordered to pay a $25,000 fine and $120,000 to the city of Chicago for lying to the police about his hate crime.

Jussie Smollett reported to the police in January 2019, that he was jumped by two men, who called him racial and homophobic slurs. He also claimed that he had bleach poured on him and had a noose put around his neck.

After being sentenced to jail, Smollett was released six days later after posting a $150,000 bond. When it comes to the book deal, an insider close to the actor said, “People are pitching him hard, and Jussie’s been told he could get a $10 million deal and way more depending on how much he dishes.”

The insider continued, “He’s desperate for a cash infusion. The word is Jussie intends to spill on the cruel way he was fired from the show, the co-stars who betrayed him, and the friends who refused to back him in his time of need.”

They also added, “Jussie is confident he’ll be vindicated in court… But whatever happens, Jussie’s earnings have dried up, so there’s no doubt he’ll sign on the dotted line- even if he has to pen this book from a jail cell.”
