Kevin Hart has revealed on his Instagram that his father, Henry Witherspoon, has passed away at age 73.
In a post, he dedicated to his father he wrote, “RIP to one of the realest & rawest to ever do it…Love you dad. Gone but never forgotten…Give mom a hug for me….y’all did good man. Thank you for everything…I’m a better father because of you We will all make you proud….”
He added another post with the caption that read, “RIP spoon.”
Hart had been very open about his past relationship with his father and how he was absent and addicted to drugs during most of his childhood. During an interview in 2018, he spoke about his father and said, “Regardless of my upbringing and the way I was raised and how often he was in my life, he’s my dad.”
He continued, “I have a positive outlook on life regardless and I’m going to love you because you’re my father.”
Kevin Hart lost his mother in 2007 from ovarian cancer. We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
