Kirk Franklin Speaks On R.Kelly After 30 Year Sentencing

Kirk Franklin breaks his silence on R.Kelly after he was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison.

According to reports, Franklin shared his comments about Kelly while in New York City. ‘It can be difficult to separate an artist from the art.” He went on to recite a verse from Luke 12:48, “To whom much is given, much is required.”

Kelly was featured on Kirk Franklin’s 1998 hit song “Lean On Me”, featuring Mary J. Blige, Bono, and God’s Property.

We reported that R.Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of federal sex crimes and was placed on suicide watch for his “own protection.”

He is set to stand trial in Illinois in August on federal child pornography and obstruction charges.
