It has been reported that his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline, was shot and killed during a home invasion. The couple’s Beverly Hills home was broken into on December 1st.
Beverly Hills PD got a call around 2:30 am when the dispatcher was told about Avant’s wife. She was rushed to a nearby hospital. During the invasion, Clarence, who is known as “The Godfather of Black Music”, was home at the time.
The couple shared one daughter together, Nicole Avant, 53. This story is developing, we will have more updates as they come in.
