Kanye West has been receiving mixed reactions after he used his social media platform to reveal that he hasn’t read any book and compared reading to eating Brussel Sprouts.
LeVar Burton didn’t appreciate West’s comments and shared his concerns in a tweet. “Hmmm… I’m going to have to take Mr. West at his word. I hope, however, that he shares a different message with the children enrolled in the school he’s founded named after his mother, who was a professor of English. I’m fairly certain she read a book or two,” Burton said.

The rapper shared his thoughts on reading while on the Alo Mid Full podcast. “When you said ‘I hadn’t read this book,’ I actually haven’t read any book,” he said. “Reading is like eating brussel sprouts for me. And talking is like getting the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli.”

Kanye West was recently questioned about his practices after he opened a school, The Donda Academy, named after his late mother. The school is not accredited yet and according to reports, parents are required to sign NDAs. It has also been noted that the executive director and the principal had no prior positions in education.
