After groups of women have come forward claiming R. Kelly has sexually and/or physically abused them, Lifetime has released a trailer of their upcoming series, Surviving R. Kelly, which documents the stories of the award-winning singer’s victims.

According to Shadow and Act, says “The docuseries will feature over 50 interviews, from activist and #MeToo creator Tarana Burke, to singer/actor John Legend, talk show host and former DJ Wendy Williams, Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly, his ex-girlfriend Kitti Jones, his brother Carey and Bruce Kelly and many others.”

The two-minute trailer begins with a voice narrating the difference between R. Kelly and Robert Kelly.

“There’s a difference between R. Kelly and Robert. R. Kelly’s this fun, laughing, loving guy, but Robert is the devil.”

The project references the 21 counts of child pornography he faced in 2004, the trial that ensued, and the names of women who have decided to share their stories: “Andrea. Lizette. Sparkle. Kitti. Jovante. Asante.”

Lifetime released a statement about the creation of the series, saying, “For the first time ever, survivors and people from R. Kelly’s inner circle, are coming forward with new allegations about his sexual, mental, and physical abuse. They are now finally ready to share their full story and shed light on the secret life the public has never seen. The true story of R. Kelly’s controversial past will be revealed beginning in 1970 through present day, shedding light on the R&B star whose history of alleged abuse of underage African American girls has, until recently, been largely ignored by mainstream media.”
