Little Richard’s Documentary Commissioned By Two Major Networks

A Little Richard documentary can be coming to television sooner than we think.

According to reports, the documentary was picked up by CNN films and HBO Max and it is set to be directed by Lisa Cortés. The idea for the documentary was originally announced in December 2020 but was having a hard time being picked up by a network.

The film, Little Richard I Am Everything, will focus on the life of the “Architect of Rock and Roll”, the ups and downs throughout his career, and more.

For nearly seven decades, Little Richard was one of the most influential figures in pop culture and music. He is best known for his groundwork in rock and roll and was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The film is set to premiere on CNN and HBO Max will have domestic and international streaming rights to the film.

On May 9th, 2020, Little Richard passed away at the age of 87.
