Lizzo fans get excited! The singer will be closing out Saturday Night Live’s 48th season as the show’s musical guest.

Back in November, rock band, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were announced as the musical guest for SNL on December 17th. However, the band has recently announced on social media that their guitar player is still recovering from a month-long case of pneumonia. Therefore the group have forfeited their SNL gig. The performance would have been the band’s first time back on the show since 2009.

Lizzo recently visited the sketch show back in April. The singer pulled double duty as host and musical performer. During her performance, she played songs from her most recent album, Special, and was hailed as an amazing host throughout the show.

The singer has since embarked on a world tour and has been nominated for 6 Grammys.

The final SNL episode of 2022 airs December 17 at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
