MAJOR! Shaquille O’Neal Opens 80 Million ‘Shaq Tower’ In His Hometown of Newark, New Jersey

Shaquille O’Neal is making major moves in his hometown Newark, NJ.

The former NBA superstar just opened an apartment tower also known as ‘Shaq Tower.’ The $80 million residential building was developed by Boraie Development and O’Neal. With about 60{41dd9c2e06c81766eef9edcd679b413ff49ebb39382f6ff487d600525ba2c0ff} leased, the units were opened over the summer.

According to Black Enterprise,

The tower is officially called 50 Rector Park and has a gym, amenities room, and rooftop cabanas and grills for residents of its 168 units.

The cutting of the ribbon took place earlier this week, (November 19) and we are told that Shaq has a penthouse suite in the building.

“It’s going to go down as the most historic building in Newark,” Shaq tells NJ Advance Media. “Second of all, it’s going to continue to beautify our city.”

In addition, Boraie and Shaq plan to build a new $150 million, a 350-unit apartment complex on 777 McCarter Highway will be known as the “House that Shaq Built.
