Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ Hits No. 1

When the holiday season rolls its way in, many people turn on their favorite tunes to get into the spirit. All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey is definitely on listener’s holiday lists as it has now hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the fourth year in a row!

All I Want for Christmas Is You reclaimed its number one spot on the hot 100 list as well as both of Billboard‘s global charts. The single from Carey’s first Christmas album in 1994, Merry Christmas, became her 19th career number one for the first time in 2019. The song is now the first in history to have four separate runs at number one.

Not only has Mariah Carey made history with her song, but some coin too.The Economist reported in 2017 that Carey had earned over $60 million in royalties since its first release.

She even shared her gratitude for the song’s success on social media. The singer posted a photo on Twitter with Billboard‘s Silvio Pietroluongo, senior vice president of charts and data development. He presented her with a plaque commemorating the holiday smash’s fourth time at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The post read “Grateful,” along with a red heart and lamb emoji.
