Missy Elliott has blessed 26 families in a huge way.
The rapper has donated $50,000 to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority as she commemorated Missy Elliott Day 2023. Her donation will pay off the past due rent of the aforementioned 26 families.
In a statement, the “Gossip Folks” rapper said, “Any time that I can help somebody is always a blessing. Instead of it being about me, I want it to be about the people here in my hometown.”
Missy’s donation comes weeks before she is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 3rd in Brooklyn. She will be inducted alongside Chaka Khan, DJ Kool Herc, The Spinners, and many more.
