Missy Elliott is receiving all of her flowers while she is still here to smell them and we love that for her.
After making history by becoming the first female Hip-Hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Virginia native will now be honored by the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville.
Singer Mya will be at the event to pay tribute to the “Work It” rapper which will take place on June 2nd. Aside from the aforementioned honors, we reported that in December 2022, Missy received an honorary doctorate from Norfolk State University. Earlier that same year, she had a street renamed after her in her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia.
Throughout the years, Missy Elliott has given fans hits such as, “Gossip Folks,” “One Minute Man,” “Lose Control,” “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)”, “Hot Boyz” and more. She is more than deserving of this honor!
