Mo’Nique is voicing her opinions about TV icon, Oprah Winfrey. After two actors from the Color Purple film have voiced mistreatment on set, the comedian says it's Winfrey's fault.

In a conversation with The Root, she opened up about Winfrey's responses to the alleged treatment that stars Taraji P. Henson and Danielle Brooks encountered.

“Everything was, ‘Didn’t I champion for y’all?’ I was like, ‘Stop it. You didn’t champion for those Black women, for our sisters.’”

She continued, “What [she] did was, ‘We can treat them like we always treat them, who gon’ check me, boo? I’m Oprah Winfrey.’ You know everything should have been done when you showed up.”

Henson has recently spoken out about having unfair pay as well as proper transportation to and from set. Brooks even added that Winfrey assisted in swooping in and fixing the mistakes that were made by the studios like giving them separate dressing rooms when they originally had to share. Mo'Nique feels that the story is a bit twisted.

“Oprah got caught,” she shared to the outlet. “That’s what happened.”

“So, when Oprah Winfrey sits at the helm […] if they were hand-picked for that movie, those women should have been taken care of from the [beginning].”
