The dramatic series that captured America’s hearts has just been greenlit for three more seasons, giving fans plenty more time with the Pearsons.

NBC announced the show’s long-term return on Sunday (May 12) alongside its fall 2019-20 schedule release.

This marks the second time broadcast television’s No. 1 drama has received a multi-season renewal deal since its 2016 premiere.

Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Presidents of Scripted Programming of NBC Entertainment released a statement about This is Us’ groundbreaking success.

“In a television landscape with nearly 500 original scripted series, there are very few, if any, that have the critical and cultural impact of This Is Us and we couldn’t be more proud to bring fans three more seasons of a show that so well represents the NBC brand. A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling.”

Show creator Dan Fogelman just finished signing a hug five-year, nine-figure deal with 20th TV, and couldn’t be more excited about where This is Us will go.

“We’re roughly in the middle of where the television series is going to go. We never set out to make a television series that was going to last 18 seasons, so we have a very direct plan. I have script pages I have written and I’m writing that really are deep, deep, deep into the future. We have a plan for what we’re going to do, and I know what the plan is.”
