Clarence Avant is known as one of the most legendary music executives within the music business. He was the longtime manager of Louis Armstrong and he also managed Sarah Vaughn among other artists.
Avant also became a huge name during his time at Venture and Sussex Records and for also signing Bill Withers. Now Netflix has made Avant the latest subject for a documentary named The Black Godfather. The film is to be released on the movie hub as well as select theaters on June 7th and it was display Avant and his life during Jim Crow south and how he redefined the music industry.
