Kevin Hart announced he would be hosting the 2019 Oscars last week, and found himself hit with a social media fire storm days later. Now, friend and colleague Nick Cannon is speaking up in his defense as he reminds the public that Kevin is not the only comedian with a past.

Hart stepped down from hosting 2019’s Academy Awards after Internet trolls demanded he apologize for seemingly homophobic tweets that were posted in 2009. Kevin said he’s sorry if he hurt anyone, but he’s not going to make another formal public apology because he’s already done so – several times.

Cannon hopped on Twitter Friday night to do some social media research of his own, and he didn’t end empty handed.

The Wild ‘N Out host found past tweets from Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, and Chelsea Handler – all white comedians who posted comments much worse than Hart’s, but their career opportunities were never derailed as a result.

Cannon retweeted a post from Silverman via 2010, which reads, “I don’t mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette’s a f—-t.”

He also highlighted a 2010 tweet from Handler that says, “This is what a fag bird likes like when he flexes.

He finished things off with a 2012 post from Schumer reads, “Enjoy skyfall fags. I’m bout to get knee deep in Helen Hunt #thesessions.”
