As California residents prepare to help Nipsey Hussle’s family and friends lay him to rest, the late rapper’s mother mother, Angelique Smith, is urging the public not to “stay stuck” or “mourn” because her late son is “great.”
Fans and celebs across the country have posted their condolences and heartbreak over Nip’s death for 10 days straight – including longtime girlfriend Lauren London. But Ms. Smith wants the public to know that her son is just fine because he’s in the hands of the creator.
“When you live your life and you have God on your side – when God dwells inside of you – there is no fear. Everything is in perfect order. Everything is in the divine perfect order of our creator.”

She went on to say, “I have perfect peace, and I have strength. I want to lift you up. Please, do not stay down. Do not stay stuck. Do not mourn because Nipsey is great. He is The Great…Now he is even greater because he has no bounds and no limits. His energy is everywhere. He’s there with you now and he’s here with me now.”
In a recent interview with the L.A. Times, London sat down with her boyfriend’s family as they shared memories of a man who will never be forgotten.

“He was a protector and wanted us to be our best at all times. He was a truth seeker and truth speaker,” she told the L.A. Times.
“I’m going to keep my head high and always represent for my king to the fullest,” she says. “He loved his kids. He was a family man. His family came first.”
Ms. Smith added, “He recognized at an early age his own capability. His own potential. He has always known.”
