Oprah Winfrey is being called out after helping those affected by the wildfires in Maui.
According to reports, the media mogul was seen handing out supplies, visiting shelters, and lending a helping hand to everyone who was displaced.
However, things took a slight turn after she visited the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku with a camera crew behind her. They were denied access to the building and the County of Maui released a statement saying that Winfrey visiting them was “truly heartwarming.” They also said that they appreciated the regulations of not bringing any camera crews into the emergency shelters.
Social media users quickly shared their thoughts on Oprah’s actions. See what they had to say below.
These reactions come around the same time that Oprah Winfrey revealed that she will make a major donation to Maui once everything settles. She is also a part-time resident of Maui and owns many acres of land there.
