Oprah Winfrey Spotlight On Quinta Brunson Is On The Way

Quinta Brunson has undeniably had an amazing, career defining year and its not done yet. The Emmy winning comedian has got another trick up her sleeve. Media icon, Oprah Winfrey, will be interviewing Brunson in an upcoming special.

OWN has announced via a press release that the two will be sitting down to discuss Brunson’s career journey.

According to the statement, Quinta Brunson “shares reflections about her childhood, her greatest mentors and the pivotal moments of her career. She also discusses the inspiration behind Abbott Elementary and why the world was ready for this Emmy Award-winning show.”

Quinta’s Reign Lives On

This just tops the list for Quinta Brunson’s wins this year. The writer and comedian was nominated for three Emmys, making her the first Black woman to have that many nominations in a comedy category. She ended up winning Emmy or Outstanding Writing for A Comedy Series for Abbott Elementary. Additionally, she was named as The Hollywood Reporter’s Comedy Star of the Year, one of Time100’s Most Influential People and became the new face of Olay.

The sit down special between the two is ironic in its own right. Brunson transformed into Oprah Winfrey in the Roku film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. “Let’s get #weird,” Brunson tweeted alongside the reveal in July.

Winfrey’s interview specials have always found their way to be a relevant staple in pop culture. The legend’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from 2021 is still a conversation starter a year and a half later.

The special is set to air November 26th at 9:00pm EST. The interview will also be available starting Sunday, November 27 on both HBO Max and Discovery Plus.
