Patti LaBelle has revealed that she is ready to find love again.
During her recent appearance on the “Jennifer Hudson Show”, the legendary singer talked about her current dating life and stated that she is single and ready to start dating again. “How old am I? 78”, she stated.
“I was married for 32 years to a wonderful man, and we’re still friends, good friends. So I think in life I need to find happiness for myself, other than what I had back in the day with him, which was wonderful,” LaBelle added.
She would go on to say, “But I’m too good to be solo.” In 1969, Patti LaBelle proposed to Edwards, and got married that same year in Maryland. He would later become the singer’s manager and they share three children together.
In a 2016 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the “New Attitude” singer explained why her marriage came to an end. “I never hated him. He never hated me. We just couldn’t live together, not because of physical fights or anything,” she said.
LaBelle continued, “We never fought, thank God, in 32 years. We got along even when we didn’t get along! But then we realized that we had to leave each other.”
Patti LaBelle’s point of view on love has changed from two years where she explained that she was living her life “like it’s platinum.” Aside from her love life, the singer is set to go on tour this spring, starting on March 10th in Maryland.
