50 Cent’s Power has ceased shooting season 6 after a crew member died on set early yesterday morning (Dec. 10).

Production assistant Pedro Jimenez was transported to Brooklyn Hospital after being hit by a car on the set of Power in Brooklyn. The 63-year-old crew member was setting up traffic cones for the day’s shoot at approximately 4:20 am when a 2006 Ford Explorer struck him. The driver stayed at the scene until EMS arrived.

Jiminez was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A spokesperson for the Starz network released a statement about Jiminez’s passing via Deadline.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family. Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”

50 caught wind of the news and uploaded an all-black image with a caption that sent his condolences to Pedro’s family.

“I just learned we lost Pedro Jimenez, a member of the Power production team early this morning. My prayers and condolences are with the entire Jimenez family.”

There are no details on when Power will resume filming, but the show was already scheduled for a holiday break, which means production may not restart until early 2019.
