Quvenzhane Wallis Lands Recurring Role on ABC’s ‘Black-ish’

Quvenzhane Wallis just secured her first TV gig. She will be joining the cast of ABC’s sitcom Black-ish in January 2019.

According to Deadline, “Quvenzhane will play the role of Kyra, Dre’s younger cousin who comes to stay with family for a while when your mother is unable to take of her.”

The young actress rose to fame in 2012 at the age of nine, when she was nominated for Best Actress Ocar for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild. Quvenzhane became the youngest actress to have been nominated for the award. In 2014, she starred in the remake of classic film Annie, playing alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.

Black-ish airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m.
