R.I.P.: Biz Markie Has Passed Away At 57

This is so sad. Biz Markie has reportedly passed away at age 57. 

The rapper, best known for his hit “Just A Friend” has died from complications with diabetes, TMZ has confirmed. 

A family member has confirmed that the rapper and beatboxer passed away at a Baltimore hospital at 6:25 pm with his wife holding his hand as he took his last breath. 

A rep for the rapper said in a statement, “We are grateful for the many calls and prayers of support that we have received during this difficult time. Biz created a legacy of artistry that will forever be celebrated by his industry peers and his beloved fans whose lives he was able to touch through music, spanning over 35 years. He leaves behind a wife, many family members, and close friends who will miss his vibrant personality, constant jokes, and frequent banter.”

It was reported that the rapper was hospitalized due to his diabetes and that he was later released to a rehab facility and that he was doing better.
