Sony Music has parted ways with their longtime recording artist, R. Kelly.

Both Variety and Billboard reports that “R. Kelly and Sony have agreed to terminate their relationship. Kelly signed with Sony at the beginning of his career in the early 1990s and has been signed to Sony’s RCA records since 2012.”

R. Kelly’s back catalog will remain with RCA/Sony.

This is following the release of Lifetime’s docu-series “Surviving R. Kelly,” where multiple women have come forward accusing the 52-year-old of sexual misconduct.

As of right now, reps for both RCA Records and Sony Music have declined to comment.
