Yes, you can be in prison and still issued a warrant!
R. Kelly was issued a bench warrant for “failing to appear in a Minnesota court” on Thursday (September 12th) afternoon.
The singer was set to appear for a case in which he was accused of soliciting a 17-year-old girl to take off her clothes and dance for $200 back in 2001.
Now, as we know- Kelly is currently in jail in Chicago awaiting trial for federal sex crimes. According to reports, Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, states “They never came to get him, wtf was he supposed to do, telepathically transport himself?”
Reportedly, the Northern District of Illinois Federal Authorities will not allow Minnesota prosecutors to gain access to the singer until his cases in Illinois are resolved.
Luckily for R. Kelly, you can’t be arrested multiple times.
