Recap: Imani Ellis Brings CultureCon Home To NYC To Wrap Up Tour

This past weekend CultureCon concluded its three-city tour by coming back home to where it all started which is New York City.

The convention was held in Brooklyn at Duggal Greenhouse, and it was full of Black creatives and excellence. There were many interactive activations for patrons to get involved in such as LinkedIn, HBOMax, Audible, TikTok, Cash App, Grey Goose, and more.

Aside from the activations, there were multiple panels held throughout the course of the day with star-studded panelists that included, Lena Waithe, Dixson, Kendrick Sampson, Gia Peppers, Taraji P. Henson, Kenya Barris, Elaine Welteroth, Tabitha Brown, Tracee Ellis Ross and so much more.

We gave a previous recap of this amazing event when it was held in Atlanta. Imani Ellis and her team made all of this possible. In 2016, Ellis founded The Creative Collective NYC while sitting in her one-bedroom apartment in Harlem with 10 of her friends who shared the same vision as her.

While on the red carpet, we were able to speak with Tabitha Brown and Meagan Good about what CultureCon means and being major influences. Watch the interview clips below.
