Buju Banton walked out of prison like a champion! The reggae superstar was released Friday (December 7) from a federal prison after a seven-year lockdown for drug trafficking.

Prosecutors believed Buju was planning on buying 11 pounds of cocaine. Before getting arrested back in 2011, he won a Grammy for best reggae album.

Buju plans on going back to his homeland, Jamaica. This will be a big moment for the country because they’ve been waiting on his arrival, as well as his fans around the world. In Jamaica, he is known as the most famous artist whose last name isn’t Marley.
