This is a sad day. Legendary talk show host and former mayor of Cincinnati, Jerry Springer has passed away at age 79.

As per the statement released by his family, Springer died peacefully in his home in Chicago after his battle with a brief illness.

According to reports, a source close to Springer said that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and that this week it took a turn for the worse.

Springer became a popular figure during the 1990s with his controversial daytime show “The Jerry Springer Show,” which ran for over two decades and in 1998 it beat “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in ratings.

After his show came to an end in 2018, Jerry Springer went on to host another show called, “Judge, Jerry” which ran for three seasons. He would make his last television appearance on “The Masked Singer” where he sang a Frank Sintara song dressed as a beetle.

Jerry Springer leaves behind his daughter, Katie and his sister Evelyn. Let’s keep his family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
