This is so sad. Singer Bobby Caldwell has passed away at age 71.

It has been reported that the “What You Won’t Do for Love,” singer was battling an unknown illness for several years and passed away in his sleep at his New Jersey home.

According to his rep, Caldwell has not been able to walk for five years due to a torn tendon in his ankle and painful bouts of neuropathy.

In 1978, Caldwell released his big hit which reached the top 10 on Billboard and his self-titled debut album went double platinum. His song has been covered and/or sampled by many artists such as Boyz II Men, Michael Bolton, Snoh Aalegra, and the late Tupac Shakur.

We will keep the family and loved ones of Bobby Caldwell in our thoughts and prayers.
