Comedian Robin Thede and HBO star Issa Rae are teaming up to bring you some black girl magic!
The two are working together on a new television series for HBO titled, ‘Black Lady Sketch Show,’ which will feature both Rae and Thede along with a number of women of color. In addition, they will be performing narrative sketches.
‘Black Lady Sketch Show’ will be directed and written by black women including Thede, who serves as an executive producer.
Thede confirmed the news on Twitter. She tweeted:
“I created, “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” because I love how many insanely funny black women are grinding in these comedy streets! It’s time the WORLD recognizes.”
She adds,
“This show is going to be epic and Issa Rae and I are honored to be bringing this project to HBO!”
