Don’t call it a comeback but Sade is reportedly working on some new music.
Reports say that Sade has recorded new music in France at Miraval Studios, which was reopened by producer Damien Quintard and actor Brad Pitt. “You could feel the love that she and the band had for this place,” Quintard said in a statement.
He continued, “And when we talked to musicians who came here previously, they all have this special connection with Miraval that can’t really be explained… It’s a dream come true to see this place activate again.”
The group has not released an album since Soldier of Love in 2010. They were also featured on the soundtracks for A Wrinkle in Time and Widows in 2018. A while back band member Stuart Matthewman revealed that the band had written a lot of new songs for the album.
“Sade’s not interested in the fame or any of that other stuff. She likes to put out art. So when it’s ready, it will come out.” Matthewman said.
As of now, there are no details on when this new album will be released but we are excited that one may be in the works. We will keep posted with updates.
