Sammie Asks For Privacy After Mother Charged With Murder

R&B singer Sammie has released a statement following the news about his mother being arrested and charged with murder. 

Sammie has asked his fans for some privacy as he and his family go through this difficult time. On his Instagram, he wrote, “In consideration of the recent news, I would first like to express my most sincere condolences to the family of Mrs. Collier.” 

He continued, “I understand the severity of the allegations, but I do not have any additional information. At this time, I respectfully request privacy for not only my family but for the family of Mrs. Collier. Thank you.” 

It was reported that the “Come with Me” singer’s mother, Anglia Baxter is currently facing a murder charge in the death of Nekaybaw Collier. The 27-year-old was shot by Baxter’s random gunfire. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Baxter was being detained. 

“An arrest has been made in the shooting death of 27-year-old Nekaybaw Collier. OCSO Homicide Detectives have arrested Angila Baxter, 56, for Second Degree Murder w/a Firearm. Baxter was randomly shooting at vehicles on 1/12 when Nekaybaw was driving in the area & was struck.” 

Collier was found in the crashed car less than a mile away from her house. She was reportedly shot in the abdomen, she was later pronounced dead at the local hospital. Collier is survived by two young daughters.
