Serena Williams is making a comeback in the tennis world!
The 23-time Grand Slam champion has been invited to play in the tournament as a Wild Card after being away for a year due to a hamstring injury.
Williams went on Instagram to confirm the news where she wrote, “SW and SW19. It’s a date. 2022 see you there. Let’s Go #renasarmy.”
It was recently speculated that she was not going to compete in the tournament this year. She had failed to qualify for the championship match and did not appear on the Grand Slam rankings list that was released earlier this month.
Serena Williams will join seven other players who also received the wild card invite to participate in the Wimbledon competition.
