For those of you who’ve always suspected that Sesame Street’s Bert and Ernie were in a relationship with each other…you were right.
The writer, Mark Saltzman confirmed that he wrote their story as a gay couple.
Saltzman claims he wasn’t trying to push any type of “agenda” and that he was simply going based off of his own same-sex relationship.

It looks like Sesame Street was not in the loop when Mark Saltzman decided to make this announcement as they later announced that Bert and Ernie do not have a sexual orientation.
