The family of the late Shanquella Robinson have issued a lawsuit to the friends that she traveled with to Mexico last year.
If you remember it was reported that Robinson has passed away under “mysterious circumstances,” and left her family asking questions. Sue-Ann Robinson, the family’s lawyer said in a statement, “The lawsuit will be against the six travel mates including the three who lied by omission by failing to disclose that someone had been beating Shanquella prior to her death.”
Once the news broke about her untimely death, Robinson’s friends first said that she had died from alcohol poisoning. It was later revealed from the autopsy report that she died from a “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation.”
After her death, a video began to circulate of the friends violently beating up Shanquella in her hotel room. In the same clip, someone can be heard saying, “Quella, can you at least fight back?” People on social media began to call for justice for Shanquella.
After an investigation was conducted by Mexican authorities and the FBI, no arrests were made and the family said that they were “tired, weary, heartbroken and missing Shanquella but motivated by her legacy to keep moving forward on the path to her justice.”
