Simone Biles just does not stop winning. the gymnast has now set a record as the most decorated gymnast of all time.
On Friday, Biles won her sixth all-around world championship gold, assisting in her new title. However, she continued on that record Sunday by claiming three more awards. She competed in the world championships, which wrapped up that day. Biles now has 37 medals across the world championships and Olympics.
After winning the feat, the champion made a shocking confession to a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In a vulnerable moment, Biles agreed with a fan that she wasn’t even sure that she would ever compete again, just a few months ago.
Since she has returned in August she has done nothing but show the world that she lost nothing during her time away.
During the medal ceremony Sunday, Biles tried her best to hold back tears as she became emotional about her win,
“I was emotional because it was my first worlds here, 10 years ago, and then now my sixth one, so it’s crazy,” she said in an interview following the competition on the Peacock broadcast. “But I swear, I do have something in my eye that’s been bothering me for like four hours and I cannot get it out.”
