Simone Ledward Boseman Paid Tribute To Her Late Husband Chadwick Boseman During The Stand Up To Cancer Event

This past weekend, the annual Stand Up to Cancer event aired on television.

The event raised over $143.18 million for cancer research and treatments. According to The Root, the event also had many appearances from big names including Ciara, MJ Rodriguez, Uzo Aduba, Common, and more.

Another person who made an appearance was Simone Ledward Boseman, Chadwick Boseman’s widow. Black-ish tv star, Anthony Anderson, who was also the co-host of the fundraiser gave a beautiful introduction to Simone.

“Many of us were devastated to learn about Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing after he privately grappled with cancer for several years,” Anderson stated.

He continued, “The world lost an incredible artist and a true hero. But before he was a public figure, he was a person like you or me. A son, a brother, uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, husband. Many of us are all too familiar with the fracture a dearly loved one’s passing leaves in the lives of those who love them. Here to perform a song of living with the reality of loss and finding a way forward is Chadwick’s wife, Simone.”

Simone sang the popular jazz song “I’ll Be Seeing You.” Her tribute begins around the 39-minute mark and you can watch it below.

This coming Saturday, August 28th, will make a year since Boseman passed away after a four-year battle with cancer.
