Singer Macy Gray Receives Backlash Over Her Definition Of Womanhood

R&B soul singer, Macy Gray recently sat down with Piers Morgan to discuss racial inequality, transgender identity, and advice that Prince gave her.

On Piers Morgan Uncensored, Macy Gray was asked what her definition of womanhood. “We are in an era now where most public figures are terrified to be asked what a woman is. If I were to ask you what a woman is, what would you say?”. Macy gave a chuckled reply, “I would say a human being with boobs and a vagina. But the whole, he, she, they, is getting confusing”.

Morgan then ignited a topic of transgenders in sports. Gray added, “I will say this and everyone is going to hate me but as a woman, just because you go change your parts doesn’t make you a woman, sorry.”

Over the weekend, a snippet of this conversation went viral and sent Twitter into a frenzy.

 

Additionally, Morgan resurfaced the raspy singers 2021 op-ed she penned for Market Watch suggested that the flag ‘no longer represents democracy and freedom’  and proposing a redesign of its stars and stripes. “There are other ways to celebrate diversity. Why go after such a powerful emblem in the United Stated when it causes disunity?, asked the host.

“It’s not that it’s about white people. Everything is different when Lincoln was president, so I am just saying, what is wrong with a new flag?”, the “I Try” singer responded.
