Social Distancing And What Does It Mean?

The Coronavirus has sparked severe panic as it continues to spread across the country.

Although, there is no specific treatment or vaccine to prevent COVID-19, a few helpful and effective preventive measures according to the National Library of Medicine is basic everyday health precautions like washing your hands frequently, avoiding contact with your mouth, eyes, and nose with unwashed hands can help keep you safe from infection. It is also HIGHLY recommended to practice social distancing.

What is social distancing? You may have seen this term floating all over social media, and even trending on Twitter. To make it quite simple- you should be maintaining a healthy distance between yourself  and other people, at least six feet.

You should be making little to no contact with people. If you can- work from home, avoid public transportation. The clubs/ bars can WAIT, and try to stay away from crowded places.

Now, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t leave your house. It’s totally okay to take a casual stroll, walk your dog, exercise on your balcony- the point of social distancing is to avoid close contact with your peers as well as strangers, not to drive yourself crazy.

Here is the perfect opportunity to work on that business plan, start that book you’ve always wanted to write, catch up on shows you wanted to watch, learn a new trade, listen to albums you may not have had a chance to listen to and get in tune with yourself and your loved ones.

Be sure to keep up with important COVID-19 updates in your state. Be safe, take of yourself and others by practicing social distancing.
