Social Media Influencer's Death Ruled Accidental By Chief Medical Examiner

The death of social media influencer Lauren Smith-Fields has been ruled as an accident. The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner states that the 23-year-old died of “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of fentanyl, promethazine, hydroxyzine, and alcohol.” The family is demanding an extensive investigation into her death. Darnell Crosland, the lawyer of Smith-Fields’ relatives said in a statement, “It looks more like a murder, and if the police don’t start acting fast, we’re going to have a real big problem on our hands.”He added, “To find out that all of these substances are in their daughter’s body that basically took her life, they’re so angry right now.”Lauren Smith-Fields was found dead in her apartment on December 12th after meeting 37-year-old Matthew LaFountain on Bumble. Reports state that authorities didn’t sense any foul play in her death. We recently reported that rapper Cardi B. took to social media to stand with the family and to demand that the state of Connecticut work on getting justice for Lauren Smith-Fields.
